Getting The Timing Right

Working back from round one

Australian football is the city's dominant code and runs the standard winter season, roughly March to August, with cricket taking the grounds from September through February. The complication here is that women's football is scheduled between September and November, deliberately outside the netball season, so the year holds more than one starting line.

Production is guaranteed at 3 to 4 weeks from the day you approve the design. Design and approval sit in front of that, and how long they take is up to your committee, not us.

3-4 Weeks from design approval
20 Unit minimum per design
30-40% Below usual retail pricing

Professional design is free, drawn by our in-house team from your colours, logo and ideas. Once your order is placed, mock-up revisions are unlimited right through to design approval.

The practical answer for a multi-code Whyalla club is to approve one design family in the summer and release the codes against their own start dates. Doing it that way, the September women's football season and the March men's season come out of the same approval rather than two.

See The Work

Proof we already deliver out here

Distance is the first thing a Spencer Gulf committee wants reassurance about, and the honest answer is a photograph rather than a promise. Roxby Downs Soccer Club and Roxby Downs Basketball Club are VS Wear customers further north again, and their finished gear shows what arrives at the end of a long freight leg.

Sport In Whyalla

Seasons staggered so people can play twice

The Whyalla Football League is an Australian rules competition on the east coast of the Eyre Peninsula with seven teams, and all of its games are played at Memorial Oval and Bennett Oval at Whyalla Stuart. The women's competition is timed for spring so that it does not collide with netball. The South Whyalla Football Club facilities also house the YCW Netball Club, Eyre Gymnastics and South Whyalla Cricket Club. Bennett Oval is the largest sporting oval in the city, and stage one of its redevelopment was assisted by an $890,850 State Government grant from the Grassroots Football, Cricket and Netball Facility Program.

One membership, several teams

A city of this size runs its calendar so that people can play more than one sport rather than choose between them. Three things follow for whoever orders the gear.

Quote every code together

When the same names appear in your football side and your netball side, two separate orders produce two slightly different versions of the club. One design family, approved once and produced in one run, keeps the colours identical across codes that never share a fixture.

Plan against two starting lines

A club with a September women's season and a March men's season has two deadlines a year, and the gap between them is the useful window for design and approval rather than a quiet period. A club still deciding in February is fitting design, approval and the guaranteed 3 to 4 week production window into its busiest registration weeks.

Decide who signs at a shared site

Where a football club, a netball club, a gymnastics club and a cricket club all operate from one set of facilities, freight arrives at an address that belongs to four organisations. Nominate the person who will receive it before the order ships. Send us your codes, grades and colours.

Why Clubs Choose VS Wear

A guarantee you can put to the committee

The date is guaranteed

Production is guaranteed at 3 to 4 weeks from the day you approve the design.

The result is guaranteed

Every order carries our 100% remake guarantee: finished garments that do not match the approved artwork or production files are remade at our cost.

The price is the price

VS Wear sells factory-direct, so the same premium quality lands 30 to 40% below usual retail pricing.

Someone here answers

VS Wear is Australian owned and operated, and your order is looked after by our Australian-based team.

Certainty matters more the further you are from a capital city. A Whyalla club that gets the wrong gear cannot drive an hour and swap it, and a club running two seasons a year has no spare month to absorb a mistake.

That is why the remake guarantee is written against your approved artwork rather than against a subjective standard, and why the production window is quoted as a guarantee rather than an estimate. Roxby Downs sits further north again, and orders land there on the same terms.

Where We Deliver

Delivery to Whyalla and the Upper Spencer Gulf

Uniforms are designed and produced centrally, then freighted to whichever address your club or school nominates, whether that is a clubhouse, a home ground or a school office.

Custom embroidered cricket caps produced by VS Wear

Give us a street address and a name rather than a shared clubroom, and the Spencer Gulf freight leg takes care of itself. We also supply Port Augusta and Port Pirie around the gulf, and the full list of South Australia cities we service covers the rest of the state through our South Australia cities directory.

Committees pricing several grades at once can start with our free custom team uniforms guide, which covers sizing and artwork for multi-team orders.

Whyalla FAQs

Questions Whyalla clubs ask us

Our members play two sports for the same club. Can one order cover both?

Yes, and it is the better way to do it. One design family across your codes means a member who plays football and netball wears the same colours in both, produced in a single run.

What custom uniforms does VS Wear supply?

VS Wear designs and manufactures fully sublimated custom sports uniforms for clubs, schools, associations and corporate teams: playing kit, training gear, warm-ups and off-field wear across the football codes, netball, basketball, cricket and soccer. Every order is produced factory-direct and shipped Australia-wide.

Our women's season runs September to November. When should we order?

Approve the design mid-year and you are comfortable. That season sits outside the netball calendar on purpose, which also makes the winter months the quietest time for a committee to get artwork signed off.

Four organisations share our clubroom. Who should receive the delivery?

Whichever person will physically be there. A site shared by four separate organisations needs a named individual on the label, because a building name gets it left at the door.

How long does a custom uniform order take?

Three to four weeks from design approval, guaranteed. The design and revision stage sits in front of that, and how long it takes depends on how quickly your committee signs off the mock-up.

Do you already supply clubs in remote South Australia?

Yes. Roxby Downs Soccer Club is a VS Wear customer club, and photographs of their finished uniforms are in the gallery linked above. Roxby Downs sits well north of Whyalla.

What is the minimum order for custom uniforms?

The minimum order is 20 units per design. Adult and junior sizes can share the one production run, so a single side with its coaching staff generally clears it.

Where should a Whyalla order be delivered?

A street address with a named person on it. Grounds like Bennett Oval are busy on match day and empty the rest of the week, which is the wrong shape for a freight delivery.

Does VS Wear have a store or showroom in Whyalla?

No. VS Wear does not have a store or showroom in Whyalla. Every order is designed and produced centrally, then freighted to the address you nominate, whether that is a clubroom or a school office. That model is what holds pricing 30 to 40% below usual retail, and it means Whyalla clubs get the same free design service, the same guaranteed 3 to 4 week turnaround and the same Australian-based support as any other order in the country.

Which Spencer Gulf towns near Whyalla do you supply?

All of them, including Port Augusta, Port Pirie, Port Lincoln and the smaller Eyre Peninsula towns between them. The pages linked above go into detail and everywhere else is quoted on identical terms.
