Rugby league carries the deepest playing numbers of any code here. Queensland Rugby League governs 62,618 adult tackle players and a further 10,943 children in tackle grades, which makes league the highest-volume winter order we quote, usually across several grades. Australian football is the other half of the winter picture: participation has passed 91,000 players, more than 30,000 of them in Auskick and over 4,000 girls in junior competitions, second only to Victoria.
Both codes start early. The senior state Australian football season ran 28 March to 19 September, twenty home and away rounds plus four weeks of finals, and rugby league opened earlier again in the first week of March. That round one is earlier than southern states work to, which pulls the ordering conversation back into summer.
Netball Queensland has 67 affiliated member associations grouped into eight regions, from Metro North and Metro South and Western Corridor to North Queensland, Whitsunday and Capricorn, and Western Queensland and Remote. An association usually covers a dozen or more clubs, so netball orders often arrive from one committee buying for grades that would otherwise order separately. Soccer sits on a similar shape: Football Queensland runs the community game through regional zones in three conferences and publishes statewide fixtures in December, well before pre-season.
Cricket fills the other half of the calendar, October to February with finals in March, and entry-level Blast registrations have reached about 10,000 in a season. School sport runs on its own structure again, coordinated across twelve regions including Capricornia, Darling Downs, North West, Peninsula, South Coast and Wide Bay. A school buying house colours or representative playing gear works to term and carnival dates, not a club season.

Winter clubs should order over the summer holidays, because a March round one leaves no room for design, approval and production in February.
